You say the coil is pushing power to the distributor, you mean it is actually sparing or are you saying that you have power at the coil? If the coil is sparking when the engine rotates but the wires coming out aren't then you have a bad rotor button or worse a broken timing belt.
For the record the distributor (actually the cas inside the distributor) sends a signal to the ecu, the ecu then sends a signal to the coil and the injector relay. So If you have spark at the coil when the engine cranks the ecu is doing something.
Starting at the beginning, if the ecu won't flash at all I'd start by checking fuses and fusible links, there is a little black box next tot he battery with links that burn out, check them.
