I have recently bought a 88 300zx I'm new to this car and I'm at a loss here is what I know I bought the car as a project not running when I bought it just to hear it run I started it up with starting fluid after getting it home I tested a few things and found out the pump wasn't kicking on and found that it had been unplugged so I plugged it back up and crossed my fingers but just my luck nothing lol so my next thought was injectors they have constant power but I don't hear them ticking while turning over and found out the plugs that were firing before weren't any more and the pump stop as well so I did some reading online and read about ecu I tried running diagnostic on it but the light didn't blink or give me any codes could the computer be the issue I really would love to see this car back on road as a previous 79 280zx owner this is a lil newer but a lil more complicated the l28 straight I'm used to any help would be great thanks in advance :ohno:

Holy crap man, you should really try using some punctuation so what you write is easier to read for everyone else.

...from what I gathered, you think you have a fuel problem? I didn't see if you verified the fuel pump is working or not... can you pull the fuel line from the fuel rail and see if the pump kicks on and pumps fluid when you key-on/crank?

Could just be a bad pump... although I suppose you could check power at the relay to see if the ECU is functioning.
There might be some troubleshooting/diagnostics in the factory service manual:

The pump will work if I wire it up to power so its not bad. And like I said the spark plugs are not firing as well as the injectors. But the coil is pushing power to distributor but no power to plug's.

You say the coil is pushing power to the distributor, you mean it is actually sparing or are you saying that you have power at the coil? If the coil is sparking when the engine rotates but the wires coming out aren't then you have a bad rotor button or worse a broken timing belt.

For the record the distributor (actually the cas inside the distributor) sends a signal to the ecu, the ecu then sends a signal to the coil and the injector relay. So If you have spark at the coil when the engine cranks the ecu is doing something.

Starting at the beginning, if the ecu won't flash at all I'd start by checking fuses and fusible links, there is a little black box next tot he battery with links that burn out, check them.

Ok and yes coil has power but it is constant no pulse. And I also thought about cas but didnt think about fusible links I will check them tomorrow thanks. I will keep y'all informed thanks

So likely the cas, or the ecu, check the ecu for codes.
