Saturday (11th hour, literally) I pulled the trigger a black/black '08 G35S 5A with Premium and Nav (and trunk mat, cargo net and splash gaurds). I don't have pics yet due to grad school final this week, but I'll get them up this weekend or so. Not like you all don't know what the car looks like anyway.

I love the car so far with only a couple of "I wishes". I wish the back seat folded like my A4 did. I wish the rear headrests removed like the last gen car because it screws with my son's carseat (lame, I know). And, I wish they would have found a better place to stick the trunk mounted 6-disc. The glove box or even the side of the trunk near the taillight would have been better. It just kills the trunk access. Maybe I'll eventually relocate it to the side and pick up a non-disc trunk liner.

Otherwise, the car is amazing. They've really hit a homerun across all aspects. Steering, power, sound, and seats are probably my favorites thus far.

Straight away I'll be getting tint done, and probably paint the grill ("How to's" for grill removal?). Other than that, my short to mid-term plans are below.Stillen exhaust - Anyone in Dallas area have one I could see/hearStillen or JWT intake - Preferences seem to vary on herePlenum spacer of some sortGrounding kit of some sort19's (maybe 18's) of some sortMaybe 350 (370? ) springs - current gap is a bit large

As a feeler, is there a market or any interest for the stock sport 18s and tires? I'm trying to decide if I'm going to run through the first set of tires before swapping or do it sooner so I can sell the stockers as a package.

Thanks to all for your help through my decision process. The site is great. I look forward to becoming a bigger part of the family. I've got a bit to learn since my head is full of German knowledge at this point.

If there are any GTGs around Dallas, please let me know.

I guess this means I'll have to change my handle now too.

first off, congrats!

i don't know what the tint laws are in texas but if you can you should get tints all around... i live in CA and i have everything tinted except for the windshield (its a risk but it looks great). for intake, if you want to keep the stock look, go with stillen. i have the z-tube/stillen intake with the motordyne 5/16 spacers and with my enging cover still on it looks stock. for the grounding kit, i only hear good stuff about nate's kit (Sentientbydesign). as for rims, my favs are either volk gt-s or work vs-xx. as soon as i save up enough thats what i'll be getting... im not too sure about the 37s but i have a 03 g35 and my short-term mods are either the volk or works, and eibach prokit or sportline springs since im too poor to get coilovers. BUT for mods, the bottom line is what you like and what you want. what other people say are only suggestions...

Tint laws here are the same as CA. I'm from So Cal originally, but moved here about 4.5 years ago. I had full tint on my A4 there and here, and never had an issue (2 above limo on front doors, 1 above limo on rears and back). I'm not worried about stock look, but I am looking to keep it more stock sounding during cruise. I had a Thermal R&D exhaust on my A4 that was pretty loud. It droned on high speed costing and decel. I liked it just fine, but the wife could always hear me turn onto our street, so she's asked if I can keep it more tame this time.

I've thought about debadging too, but can't decide. I'll have to see some more pics to get a full visual. If I do, I'd probably do all on the trunk but Fuji. I'm up in the air on the splash guards too. Dealer told me they've got tape on them as well, so I'm sure they'd be a much bigger pain than the badging.

Thanks for the info and welcome.

Welcome to the bright side of the world.

There are mods out for our cars but still not a whole lot. Stillen intake if you go with gives you the stock look but deep woot. It is loud. There is a short tube and the long one. Your choice.

Grill is easy to remove not really a miracle. You can do it without instruction.

There is already a supercharger and a TT set up out for our car. The tt pushes with stock internal around 460hp.

Not sure if the z springs are actually ood for the sedan but there are few aftermarket to chose from like eibach. The z spring, z tube and the plenum is for first generation coupe and sedans.

Just let us know what you havre in mind and we take you to the right route.

Hope this helps. And of course we love pictures even the stock cars are sexy.

Don't tempt me. I had high hopes going BT on my Audi, but grad school and kids have taken precedent. At this point, the wife would have my wedding vegetables if I came home with one.

Oh BTW to remove the 6 disc changer is not hard. One guy did it. He just disconected it.

Yeah, I looked it up in the FSM. The panel is just 5 or plugs and the changer is 4 bolts I think. Couldn't tell how long the wiring harness was though, so I don't know if it'll be relocateable. Probably doesn't matter anyway. I only really listen to my ipod these days. Not sure I could even find my cd case if I wanted to.

Na, went with the 0.9% for 60. The cash flow-to-interest cost was better. I tend to keep cars 5 or 6 years anyway. Straight cash would have been nice though!
