Hey would you guys ever trust getting an rb20det engine set off ebay. I'm trying to save for an rb20 and i'm trying to do it right but I need an rb20 fast and i only have a grand saved up so far and engines on ebay are monstly 1 grand.. I know some shops want 1,500 dollars.. But I kinda need an rb20 fast and cuz i been wanting for 4 years now to do the swap and it's finally taken me 4 years just to have a grand saved now and if i go to a shop where they want 1,500 it'll probably take me like another 5 months and i need the engine set fast cuz ka is dying and I really wanna have rb power for this summer. If you only have a grand, I would recommend not doing the swap right now. Engine swaps are not something you want to cheap out on. I know I spent over 4k to get mine running the first time, after all replacement parts and a few upgrades. I just don't want you doing something that you may regret later...

Your in PA, Same as me, I went to JDM Engine Depot to get mine in New Jersey, I got an rb25 that was MINT. I paid $2500. For some stupid reason they charge seperatly for a MAF, but i just argued and told them I wouldnt take the motor if they didnt give me the MAF. I ended up paying $40 for it from them, then realized they gave me a z32 maf which is unuseable without tuning so I sold that, and bought a rb maf. It ended up me making money back. They were fine to deal with though, and they are in north jersey.

I just re-read your post, and saw you only have 1g. Honestly dont even waste your time with an RB if money is an issue. Even if you got the motor for 1000, to get it in the car and running your going to need about 2000 more atleast.

Hi, This is my first post, but anyway, I am in the middle of my swap now, actually about to paint the car then drop the RB20, and what I can tell you is about everything you will need and a general idea of how much it costs, luckly I have a car shop and got some pretty good deals on my stuff, howeverMotor set- 1300 shipped from nagano japaneseFMIC- 500 hybridTiming Belt-125Water pump- 100T-belt tensioners- 85Fuel Pump-100Spark Plugs-30MAF-50Air filter-40Mount kit- 450Clutch-300 clutch mastersflywheel- resurface-30 Lightweight-400oil filter, antifreeze, oil, etc- 40totaling=3150, and all this might get you on the road reliably, this is not even including optional extras like boost controllers, cams, bigger turbo, boost gauges, etc., So just know if you dont have but only 1000 going into it and it would take you how long to get another 1000, you will be setting on that engine for awhile.
