It's been around for years and I've used it in other vehicles, never in my Q but not because I didn't think it was good. I don't recall any magical improvement but I haven't had magical results from any engine oil or fuel additive. Restore is for the engine oil, BG44K is a fuel additive.

Yea I know restore is for oil but last time I asked a question like this "is Z-max as good or better than BG44k" I was told to only use BG44k I was just wondering if there is a board recommended product for oil?

I just bought a can hopefully it works and not harms the engine anyone know if there is a chance that could happen?

And I know if there was an oil additive that actually worked the oil companies would merge with the product maker and then put that in there oil but you never know.

Important to study Chemistry and know what you are trying to solve. Obviously putting the wrong solvents in the wrong place or lubricants can make things seriously worse!

Luckily things sold at discount stores are usually mild enough so that the typical [chemistry ignorant] buyer cannot cause too much harm and thus lowers the risk of lawsuits.

Cheap mild solvents are just that cheap and mild and may do nothing except take your money.

If you ever have a chance to see an engine parts washer in action you will see how strong [eats your skin off in chunks] melts many rubber gloves immediately and requires serious wire brushing to not clean very well and takes hours and hours.

You cannot FIX years of abuse or even one extended oil change! The varnish is not removalable while the engine is assembled PERIOD, no ifs and buts about it.

All Aluminum engines are much more difficult compared to old iron or even mixed metal engines.

thats the answer I was looking for.

So that BG stuff for the oil will not help then I guess?

I will just use BG44k then and regular flushes and preventative matinace then.

The MSDS to "Restore" Can be found at any place that sells it. The manufacture will not give out The MSDS to consumers. I have made up my mind already about this product after seeing the MSDS.

Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)

I put two gallons of it in my Q's crankcase on Christmas Eve. The next day I had four brand new Michelins on the car, and new sheepskin seat covers. I kid you not.

I don't know the legalities on this but MOST states require accessibility of an MSDS with ANY and ALL chemical products. So if no MSDS sheet is given with the product... I would be very skeptical
