Good deal BigLeeRoy, throttles look good. Im using 2002 750's which are the same.

You got the de right, or you a single slamma? Take lots of pics and stuff when your designing/building . With all the different combinations of parts and design, things get interesting

Sweet.

Good to see more people getting into this. It's not as hard as people think it is, however it takes 10x the time people think it does.

I second what Devious said about the pics/documenting.

Oh and if you need any help, my aim is PandaAkS14

Cheers.

Really what we need is a good intake manifold that's being mass-produced, to get rid of the truck manifold we have. I was going to get a guy to do it, but he's been dragging *** for so long I don't know if he's even doing anything.

Truck mani? Are you referring to the long runners? Well in any case it's not a truck mani because the ka trucks had different manis than 240's.

sorry, I'm just so sick of "KA's are truck motors", and the like.

anywho, there is a mani for kaE's, it's the nismo one. then you just get ITB's made to bolt onto carbeurator manifolds. Forget which carbs the Nismo mani is made for.

yeah, but for kaDE there is nothing.

Question:

How are you going to meter the air going into the engine?

i sent a diagram i drew up to a friend thats gonna get my manifold welded, and devious told me about another manifold to use. i will be making 2 manifolds for this. i will be using a map sensor. megasquirt runs a map sensor. people have used maf sensors before though.

Good luck getting the Megasquirt to run. I have read through their manual. Seems you need to put in some time to get it just right, but I like the reported results.

The long runners and secondary butterfly valves, both designed to improve low-end torque, and both restrict high-end power.

Quote »sorry, I'm just so sick of "KA's are truck motors", and the like.[/quote]Hate to break it to ya, but it's the truth. 89mm bore and 96mm stroke with long runners and secondary butterflies (the truck manifolds are different, but not that much different, still have the same design philosophy). It's not a truck motor because it came in trucks, it's a truck motor because of how the engine is designed.

How about "truck-like" design then?

I'd just call it an oversquare I4 but we're splitting hairs here...
