i tried emailing you but no answer so i thought maybe u use a diff one now. anyways. me and my friend did the same swap, u have on your car, the 96 ka instead of the 91. did you also replace the ecu?? cause we didnt, becuase there wasent one. do i just wanna know what you did, and how your car runs, or anyone else who has any background on this. thanks.

You should have used the '91 wiring harness and swapped the distributor from the '91 to the '96. If that's the case then the '91 ECU should be used.

I had a '92 with a '95 engine running '92 ECU and now have '93 with '96 engine, runing '93 ECU. No problems. What ever wiring harness is used the corresponding ECU should be used.

Do you mean from the same years or across the board?

'89-'90 are same. '91-'94 are the same (except '94 are all AT, but that can work on MT). '95s are the bastard child (only S14 OBD1). Not positive but think '96-'98s are all the same.

But you can't swap SOHC for DOHC (8bit processor vs 16bit processor). It is probably possible to do something between S13 DOHCs and '95s. And if you use the wiring harness from that year you should be able to hook that same year to it. Just some of the things on the engine might have to be changed (connectors, wires, etc). Think I just confused myself, hope it helped a little.
