Make sure those saws are electric and powered by the wind.
Just one more reason the CARB witch-hunt is retarded, shoert-sighted, and a waste of Federal monies.
The gullibility fairy flew right up your kiester, Bobby.rn79870 wrote:If by witch-hunt you mean “foresight” and by short-sighted you mean “ecologically necessary” and by waste of Federal monies you mean “building a better planet” then I totally agree with you. We are fortunate to have such a earth friendly agency leading the way for the 49 other great states here in America.
Here's the issue with that:rn79870 wrote:If you find a very cute, but obese 300 pound girl. Other than the 300 lbs, she is a winner. You put her on a diet by taking away the donuts, hostess cakes, etc. -the easy things first. Then one day she is down to 160lbs. Still there’s a way to go. You start taking away other things, like McDonalds, Wendy’s and Batman and Robin’s, etc. Pretty soon she is down to 140 and looking pretty good. She still needs to drop a few more pounds to fully capture her beauty. So you go after the little things, the things that seem petty or unnecessary, but ever so slightly add to her girth. Pretty soon, one pound at a time, Miss April emerges in all her glory.
This is what California has done. They have created a 130lb, 5’7” blue eyed, 37-33-35 blond bombshell of a mess of a 300 lb environment.
Bobby, I love ya brother, but you're a bigger Dodger than Tommy Lasorda.rn79870 wrote:Geeesh.... Greg, look at the logic... It's working, the environment is cleaner now than 10, 20, 30 years ago. If trees were such a big problem, then Brazil, and the rain forest ought to be covered with a 5000 foot layer of smog.
Don't shoot the messenger. We're actually aggressively addressing the grossest polluters out here in the desert, not picking on 1/10000th of the driving population. Especially since we don't have all those damn trees to fret about.rn79870 wrote:It appears that the Arizona rag, AXcentral.com, has taken the "why should I do my homework, no body else does theirs" approach to environmental issues.
Of course you would. And your appreciation would be misplaced. You should thank the EPA and CAFE instead.rn79870 wrote:CARB is effective. CARB has worked. I'd contribute to it if they took contributions.
Not quantifiable. "Probably" is not a word we should be using when discussing legal matters.rn79870 wrote:Any product that is CARB approved is probably a better made product.
Hey, now THAT makes sense.rn79870 wrote:Plus, having the CARB approval will prevent problems like those experienced in the recent car club crackdown.
Attorneys like to use probably, possibly, potentially, often, seldom and sometimes. They dislike Yes, No, Always, and Never. I just want to sound like an attorney.AZhitman wrote:

Of course they do, thus their reputation.rn79870 wrote:

Yes, extortion. I never mentioned driving. My example is solid and applicable.rn79870 wrote:Extortion you say? Hey, remember, driving is a privledge. Therefore operating a car on a public highway is a privledge. No one ever puts a gun at your head and says "drive to work today." Where is the extortion this type of regulation?
Quality = Effective for a given task and durable for the long run. This is exactly what CARB is testing for isn't it? If you're referring to things like beads on the welds, or color of chrome, then that wouldn't be considered, and would make little or no difference in the performance of the part.AZhitman wrote:More expensive does not always mean "better-made". As a SEMA member and attendee for the past 6 years, I can tell you that there's very little correlation between "quality" and CARB-certification.
Jeezus. I'd rather you just shoot me if you dislike me THAT much...AZhitman wrote:Brotha, you're up for President if we can get you on the ballot.
You were close. Having a drivers license and driving on public roads is a privledge. On your own property you can do as you please.....Unless you are in Cali and your non-licensed car has DB's of over 70 at the neighbors fence......and they eventually disallow you to do what you want on your property because the vehicle is not regisetered and they are missing out on sucking a few hundred bux out of your wallet each year......rn79870 wrote:Hey, remember, driving is a privledge.
Wait....You were wanting me to run....Encryptshun wrote:
