Hey what's up man. The location is fine..... you wouldn't really notice any audible difference at another location. The only time that location would be bad is if you added another sub on the other side of the car. With the 2 subs firing at each other you could get some cancellation. You do want to make sure the box is 100% sealed though. All seams should be glued and screwed at the very least. Also, if you simply drilled a hole for the speaker wire to come through, then you need to make sure that is sealed also. Otherwise that is as good of a place as any. The 800 watt Lanzar is way too much power for the W1, but you can just keep the gain down and make sure not to allow the sub to distort when playing it. The 10W1 is only rated at about 125 watts RMS. You can invert the sub, it really doesn't matter. You would need to wire it out of phase if you do so though. As far as amps go, I would just keep the Lanzar if it works. If you are wanting a new amp then Alpine has a nice 500 watt mono-block that runs $189 shipped. Do you know what impedance your sub is?
