hey! I got the intake as recommended, I liked the sound of the fujita better than the jwt and others from the vids on you tube etc. but who knows from the videos really... but I'm excited, anyone try them? performance increase? gas mileage?

Thanks again,

I can't speak for Fujita (short ram it looks like ?) cause I don't have one, I don't even have a Fujita. However I just recently installed my CAI like a week ago and it sounds awesome, major difference in sound and the performance difference is noticable. On mine I feel it more on the high end. I believe someone on here said the short rams are felt more at low end.

As far as gas mileage well if I didn't like feeling the extra acceleration and sound I might see slightly better mileage but right now I'm not. I have noticed though that even pushing it it seems I get better mileage than if I pushed it on the stock setup. Now cruising trying to get the best mileage though I'm unaware which setup is better as yet.

I bought the Fujita F5 (same as yours) about 2 months ago and had major issues.

My car made 10 RWHP less than with stock and ran incredibly lean. ECU just didnt seem to be compensating so took the filter off, cut the pipe in half and now use the stock air box to MAF and then the attached F5 pipe. My car made 170kw (about 225hp) on an Australian rated dyno (we have different HP rating guidelines) with stock airbox which I've been told would be around 240hp if it was on a US dyno). Stock G's on AU dyno's make 210hp.

You need to be careful with these open element filters because the engine makes so much heat and all your doing is essentially sucking in hot air. I'd love to hear your feedback when you install and if you get it dyno'd I'd love to see your numbers, cause it just did not work at all with my car.

Heat shielding it would help keep the air inlet at the filter colder for sure but I tried searching ebay for heatshields for short ram intakes and came up with 0 results, so I did a general google search and again came up short. I did find other G35 forums talking about making custom ones so you might have to fabricate your own. The only one I've seen come with one is the JWT Pop Charger.

I did stumble accross this though ...injen tuned intake Anyone heard of this or done any research on it ? Not to steal the thread or anything just found it interesting, I'm wondering if this is different then their CAIs that I've seen all over the place, the bending kinda looks different

On a 92 civic years back I rigged a hose off a custom intake in the lower grill. I used a ractive heat shield and it seals around the tip of the intake. Only negative is moisture in heavy rain etc.

Ill look into it...

Are you planning on getting your car dyno'd?

here's the exact ractive filter we used on the honda civic application...

Think if you had a custom hose connecting to the intake shield, I'd get cooler air than the with the fujita F5 system alone?

Thanks
