I've been looking around this forum for awhile now and have found that the CA18DET is the motor i wanna put in my b12. I have an 1989 sentra fwd 2 dr coupe with the l4 1.6 engine and i want to swap out that because it's starting to die and put in a fresh engine and trans combo and do the whole powerplant. I wanted to know if i can do a direct bolt up and or what i might need to replace and buy. I looked for a guide on this but i seem to run into the sr20det swaps and thats not the way i wanna go with alot of modding. My dad has a shop i can do it in i have a welder which is my occupation and tools so if it will take some time i have it since i just got laid-off. Boost if you could point me in the right direction for everything i might need that would be great because this is my first motor swap. Thanks

To start, you will need to find a 1988-89 pulsar with the CA18DE in it and scavenge all the parts need from that car. You need to change the throttle cable, gas pedal, clutch pedal, and shifter w/rails. That should cover things for the inside, now for the engine bay stuff. You'll need to scarf the pulsar's transmission, flywheel, starter, transmission mount bracket, leftside engine mount bracket, the front torque mount backet, the rear mount bracket, the pulsar's radiator and hoses, and also the clutch master cylinder and hardware. Oh yeah make sure you get all the bolts as well. About 10 years ago, I used to offer this swap for $3500 all inclusive (just drop your car and go), but nowadays when I look back, I realized how low-budget I was back then because I wouldn't even do it for anyone else now. Hope this helps.
