Hey AllJust a quick hello, found this site when googling around to find some info on intake kits.

I'm from Sydney Australia and I've got an '06 Tiida (Versa to you guys) Hatch Pretty much stock; except it's got- Bi-Xenon HID Conversion- 1.5" Lowered Springs- Dark Window Tints- Complete Stereo System (Sony DVD Deck, Hertz Fronts, Boston Rears, Audison & Kicker Amps, Pioneer Sub, Dynamat Xtreme Throughout)

Currently looking around to find someone who will send me an AEM intake kit to AU. Going to grab a strut top brace and order a set of Work Emotion CR KAI (18") in a few weeks when I get back from my overseas holiday.

Here's a couple of pics

Colour is Sapphire Black with the beige/tan interior.

CheersRyan

Weclome. Black one as well for me.

Gotta ask, what's with the big "P"? I'm sure its some kind of Aussie license plate thing, but it stands out a lot.

The Green P means I'm on my last stage of Provisional License. Our system here goes L plate = Learners, Red P Plate = Stage 1 Provisional, Green P = Stage 2 Provisional. We have to display the plates on the outside of the car or we get fined from the Police. I'm off my Provisional License soon on to my full license so not too long until the ugly plates can be thrown in the bin :D

I'm happy enough with the 1.5" drop - however it really needs larger rims to fill out the guards some more. At the moment the gap in the front between the tyre and guard is still enough to see the spring, however, the actual car body is pretty low as it does scrape on some kerbs and speed humps if I'm not careful....

Hey was just wondering how many kelvins your HID's are? 6000K? 8000K? I was just curious cuz i put HID's into my Versa as well. I have 6000K's in the headlights, and 8000K in my foglights

They're 6000k Hi/Lo

I might be changing the globes over to 4300k for a more factory look shortly, I'm growing tired of the blue

do you have a mr18 engine? because i was sure that only the North american model had the 1.8L engine. if you do, then you can use teh CAI, if you dont. then dont bother having a AEM ship over, because it wont fit.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the Australian Spec ones are basically the 1.8L (MR18DE) Jap Spec ones minus a couple of interior features. Mine's a 6sp Manual MR18DE, series 1 so it's made in Japan. The series 2 ones here are manufactured in Thailand.

As for the lights - the blue light isn't the best for vision. Whilst it reflects signs and everything heaps well being extremely bright xenon light and all, on the actual road surface it's too blue. 4300k still looks bluey when you look at the actual light lens but looks whiter on the road, that's why I'm going to make the switch.

Just a small update.

Still waiting on the Work wheels from Japan - been waiting a month now and they're still not ready, grrr!!

HID kit had a blown globe so its out temporarily, been waiting over a month for replacements there too!! ARGH!!

Also my new subwoofer has been on backorder for over a month, DAMN IT!!

BUT! The good news,

Bob from Versaspeed is sending me over an AEM Intake kit which should arrive any day now (Thanks Bob!) and my car goes in for a full exhaust (except extractors) this coming friday.

I'm going 2.25" from the extractors back, with a high-flow metal cat that cost me more than the rest of the exhaust, LOL!

I'm getting the car put on the dyno before/after so I'll post figures to see how she goes.

P plates are just cheap bits of plastic which are close to self disintegrating lol

Lucky I didn't drop my cash on the new Plasma TV I fancied today :\

Well, spoke to the dent removal place today and they say it won't be a problem. Isn't costing me as much as I thought too... but won't get done until February as they're so busy! nevermind.

Custom exhaust got put on today 2.25" from extractors back with a stainless high flow cat... got it dynoed and the power figure is quite sad but the power curve is alot better. It's got 104hp at the wheels now - have not put the AEM intake on yet as it hasn't arrived. Hopefully I can muster a few more hp at the wheels out of it with the intake on.

Dyno I got it put on usually reads a little low, but all dynos vary anyway so its just a rough guide at the end of the day.
