I will soon to start and try to modify my V. First things Im think of doing are an axle back exhaust and rims. Then tint and lowering kit. Any advice to go with this. I know the parts I want. I'm gonna to try to get the exhaust and install with a friend any expert tips to doing this install? Really I would love to hear advice on the exhaust being I'm going to try and get that first.

all i can say is, i have Tanabe springs and they work great, the difference in handling is huge.... also the car doesnt look like a small suv... rims, i have 17, they also improve the ride plus change the appereance of the car in a tremendous way.. I have read here of ppl with 18" and they have not problem at all, they fit, they say. exhaust, i dont have mine yet, but look trhough the forum cuz i have read very good stuff... lots of ppl have them.... the only thing to keep in mind is that u have to cut the bumper and a metal sheet that is behind the bumper which seems to not be part of the chasis so it wont affect anything to cut it... im doing that in few weeks... i decided to go for the intake before the exhaust..

PS: if u look through the forum there are pretty good postings about rims, tires, springs, intake and exhaust!!! hope it helps...

The exhaust can be a bit tricky fitment wise, especially if you also plan on lowering as well. I didn't want my exhaust dragging on the ground so I had to have the plastic piece on the bumper radius notched, then I also had to have a non-structural portion of the bumper cut off underneath the car so everything would fit nice and neat up there. I would almost recommend doing the exhaust after lowering the car and getting your wheels rims to see how much space you'll have in case you don't have the time/knowledge/equipment/money to throw at it.

Hmm thanks guys you have me some things to think about. I will soon be ordering the exhaust. Also, I got thinking after the exhaust I might do tint and a radar detector instead of lowering the V. Any Tint percentage suggestions and thoughts on a radar detector?

Can't go wrong with Escort for a detector. I bought my fiance one of those and it's awesome. A little on the pricey side. I'm still using the first one I ever bought. It is a Whistler from 1997. It has paid for itself 10fold.

No prob. I got her the Passport 8500 in blue. I got it for about $300.The one I really want but won't shell out the $1500 for is the custom installed one. I believe it is the 9500 or something. You have sensors mounted on the front and rear of your vehicle. The display is small...small enough to mount on you dash or under your radio. It's nice so if you do get pulled over you don't have a visible radar detector hanging off your windshield.

Hey Knight Passport 8500 X50 Radar Detector - Red is 310 on escortradar. I'm going to talk to my friend and ask what his suggestions are also. But where are some possible places to buy a radar from.

Well, detectors in general you can get from Best Buy or Circuit City. If you're lucky enough to be by a CC that is closing you might get a deal.As far as Escorts go, those are only carried by "authorized dealers" which tend to be high end car audio shops. I just got mine online.
