Hesitation while starting

Me and my wife just picked up our 2001 Infiiniti I30 yesterday.... The car has been on the lot for 3 months and has 168,000Kms on it. I live in Toronto, Canada and its winter up here, when I start the car it hesitates before it starts its done it only twice my queston is: is this normal because of the cold and the fact its been sitting or could it be something else?

It could be caused by the cold, yes. Hesitation while starting in the cold could be a sign that your battery needs to be replaced.

Welcome. Check the electrolyte levels in your battery. Refill with distilled water if it's low.

also, if the battery has gotten low, the lack of CCA (cold cranking amps) could have damaged the starter.

Thank you for the help MinisterofDOOM, 00MaxSE, and jltibbs problem hasn't happened since so im kinda leaning towards the cold weather factor thanks for the help
