Hesitation then lurching when accelerating on hwy?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

does anyone else experience hesitation then lurching when they accelerate on the hwy?

ie. if I am doing 100-120kms/hr and need to step it up to get around another vehicle my EX will hesitate for 1-2 seconds after I press the gas and then it lurches/engine revs and it responds.

Is this normal?

I asked my dealer and they said if I am not an agressive driver this is normal as the car learns the drivers pattern and adjusts. They said if I were to drive very aggressively for 48 hrs or so the car will reset itself. Another dealer checked my gas pedal sensor(not sure the exact terminology) and it was off slightly, but the car is still acting the same.

Somehow, this seems rhi-donk-ulous to me-shouldn't the car respond regardless?

i also had same problem before.it hesitated a little when i hit the gas pedal then it accelerated.i searched online and tried 2 days of "aggressive" driving style to make my EX to adopt my driving habit.(although it got me one speeding ticket )so far, it seems like my EX is trying to figure out my driving habit.hesitation is almost gone and gear change is little bit smoother. and funny thing is my MPG gotten slightly better.so try this for couple of days if you are okay to pay for at least one speeding ticket. even though EX hesitates, it still is very QUICK car.
