Can someone just break down to me what could be the causes for hesitation???

See, although I have posted a lot of crap about my vehicle, this is the most elaborate of the symptoms I'm having.

See, sometimes when I'm driving, I start smelling stuff. I dont know what the hell it is. sometimes it smells like food, other times it smells like car related smells. I just dont know.

I dont know if i'm supposed to hit the gas pedal often but it is when I hit it after slowing down that the car hesitate. when I just easily apply pressure on the gas pedal, the car slowly and easily speeds up and I dont feel nothing.

contrary to what most of you techs may say, In my honest opinion, I feel, some power balancing, maybe wheel alignments, brake rotor rolling, and some flushing should fix it. thats what I truly feel. as far as the smell goes, i think it means some major flushing needs to be done

you need to get your car to a qualified infiniti tech yesterday to diagnose and evaluate this and all other problems you are experiencing! how many times do you need to hear this?how come you did not do the pre-buy inspection that so many times has been strongly recommended to you? you buy a car with AT LEAST 173,000 miles on it,and want members to guess at the possible solutions to food smells?turning rotors and alignments will not solve engine problems-we want the best outcome for you and your q experience, which begins with a complete pre-buy inspection to weed out the lemmons, before they become YOUR problem.97-2001 q`s are too common to accept purchasing a problem one.

qship is right. there is no way that any of us can diagnose a particular smell in your car. you really need to get the q to either an infiniti dealership that can give a complete once-over w/ consult, or the cheaper route......down to vanmeter for an evaluation from an experienced Q45 master tech. AFTER, you get the results from the eval. the resident experts here will completely break it all down for you. i know when you get a new car you are sometimes hypersensitive to every smell, bump, squeak, and groan, but an expert really needs to inspect the Q. i had vanmeter check mine out, and was very happy with his knowledge. you'd be wise to look him up, or someone like him (dealership?). good luck and let us know :)jeff

trust me, i've been wanting to take it to the dealership.

i just haven't had the time to head on down to the dealership.

i bought the car a lil more than a week to go so i have at least two weeks warranty left. the warranty covers engine problems and some other things
