o.k. so ive been daily driving my sr for almost 4 years now and its been great gas milage and all... i never abused it like redlined it or raced it at all... just drove it normally from a to b ... i liked knowing i had power thats why i did the swap...

so recently i enter the freeway at normal speed... from the stop light from 1st gear to 2nd at around 3500rpm my car sorta hesitated... normally i shift from here but i wanted to feel the power my motor has ...and this happened... the same with 2nd to 3rd at the same rpm... and 4th to 5th also... but it drove smoothly while on freeway...

heres the thing ...i normally can accelerate fast from 50 to 75 no problem and now it takes a while till i get there.... so then im in the fast lane and the flow of traffic gets faster people are going around 80 and a bit over (california) so i accelerate and my car hesitates to go over 80 like it wants to stay under 80 ?????

man this is getting long... but well

so i clean my ARC super induction box and the maf sensor... same thing still happens... i try putting my silencer on, makes no difference just quieter...

so could it be fuel filter??? im running a walbro255 fuel pump and maybe it could be that im running a stock (s13)fuel filter and not a z32 one??? also i started to smell gas from inside my car... thats why my guess is my fuel filter??? just dont want to buy more parts if i really dont need to, bad turbo maybe??? i also noticed black stains on my rear bumper exhaust area.

ive searched to see if any one had the same symptoms but no one seems to...so help is greatly appreciated

thanks again in advance for any help

man dude your on time with this two of our sr's were doing the same things a few weeks back at the exact same rpms. we got my buddys car together and it wouldnt go above 3500 it would just break up and hesitate and same for my friends hatch after he did some tinkering under the hood of his car.

we discovered it was the cam angle sensor. on one it was out of adjustment and on the other it was bad.

we replace the one and it ran fine like it never happened and adjusted the other and same thing ran perfect.

my guess is the gas you smell is unburnt fuel do to it not getting enough spark at higher rpms to combust the fuel. i would smell the dip stick and if it smells like gas stronger than usual then thats most like the problem well my guess anyway. try a buddies cam angle sensor if you know some else with a sr and see what happens and if that fixes it try messing arround with your to get it back in adjustment if that dosent work its most likely time to replace it.

good luck dude post back let me know how that works for ya if ya try it.
