Hi all! I'm new to Infiniti and to these forums, although it's these forums that helped me make the G37 my final decision for a new car.

I've had my new 2009 G37x sedan (auto, premium pkg, Black Obsidian, Graphite Leather w/ African Rosewood trim) for a couple weeks and have 600 miles on it. My concern is the hesitation when the car shifts from 4th to 5th (sometimes 3rd to 4th and 5th to 6th as well depending on speed). The transmission hesitates between gears and the RPM's rev up. It doesn't happen on the first two or 3 gear changes but on the last change it will hesitate and rev. Note- this is when in the standard drive mode, not Ds. Has anyone else experienced this? I've tried searching the forums using 'hesitation' but can't seem to find an exact match for my situation. Unless hesitation is the wrong term for what's going on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Many times you have to drive others of same make and model and year to decide what is normal. The new 7 speed may have teething problems, as has been the case when every change was insituted.Luckily you have 6 years of power train warranty to sort it out.

When the 1990 Q45 was launched I was at dealers every 2-3 weeks for a year to fix minor problems. After all a transmission can be replaced in a day.

Welcome to NICO!

You could always have a tech ride with you (hopefully it will do it during the test ride). Like Q45 said, Infiniti has a great powertrain warranty.

I plan to have a tech drive the car during my first service call (about the 1,000 mile mark). Unfortunately I live 1.5 hours away from the nearest dealer and don't have regular access to the service dept. I was hoping to get opinions from people who have experience the same. It may be nothing but I have it on my list of issues/concerns for the dealer when I go in a few weeks.

Just saw that you're in New Hartford! I used to live in Camden. I definitely miss upstate NY

It's a perfect time of year right now with the leaves changing and all the foliage. How long have you been gone? I know a few people from that area.

I left in 96...went in the Air Force. My wife still has family in Rome. We may move back there eventually, depending on the work situation.

Update: I was at the dealer yesterday for my 1K mile checkup and they said there was an update to the computer that controlls the transmission. They performed the update and I haven't noticed it since, but will continue to monitor it since I haven't driven much since.

I had noticed this hesitation on my G37x when I got it.

Now I have a G37x with 2200 miles sitting at a dealer with a busted Cam sprocket.

Good luck!!!
