I bought a winter car on ebay. It was cheap and far away so i didn't make the long drive to check it out first. I drove it home last week end. Anyway, it has a hesitation until it get to maybe 2,500-3,000 rpm(no tach but i'm guessing) THe distibuter cap, rotor, pcv, and plug wires are 11 months old. I changed the fuel filter and sparkplugs before making the drive. THe car is a 1989 toyota tercel. Any guess what causes a hesitation at a low rpm???

although it is a completely different car, my 240 had a similar problem and fixed it by replacing the fuel pump...

THe guy that i bought it from said the same thing...the fuel pump or a clogged fuel line. I thought the fuel pump showed no signs of going out until it goes out for good. I was thinking it might of been the timing being off. THe spark plugs had some white powder on them.Someone said that was a sign water was getting into the compression camber. Any comment????

check your egr operation, air flow operation, do an injector leak down maybe its flooding, check fpr operation make sure its not closing to soon. test those things first before just hanging any parts on the car. all of those will effect accel.

OOOOOHHHH I'm sorry thought toyota kept up with nissan and ousted the whole carb nightmere earlier.

then thats probably the problem. mixture control solonoid or restrictions in the passeges.
