Hello everyone,

Here is a good one for the achieves.

I have an SR in a 1990 240.

Problem:

If I drive like a grandma and shift slow thru the gears it is fine. But Under moderate to heavy throttle my car hesitates, bogs backfiresin the down pipe. Around 2500-3500 rpm.

To start trouble shooting, I changed my sparkplugs to ngk 7s wasrunning 5s for a short while.

I checked the intake pipes I noticed my HKS filter nut fell out andthe filter was slightly open. I got a screw tightened it up.

I have tried to reset my ecu to see if it was sending a bad readingfor air mixture due to the air intake being loose.

I then checked the ecu for codes and it came up with 34 knock sensor. From what I hear that means the knock sensor is not bad it justtriggering it.

Only thing I can think of is the loose intake filter caused thetiming to be advanced and is throwing the knock sensor.

I was thinking of checking the timing next. But I thought yell mighthave some ideas first..

Thanks in advance, and if anyone in the orange county area wants tohookup and talk cars hit me up,

Aim: envsn8thanks Eric

34 Knock sensor will most likely send most Nissan cars into limp mode.

The ECU will log "problems" with sensors, logging a 34 means theres a problem with the sensor, either unexpected voltage or no signal at all.

1) Run the car

2) Check for codes again

3) repeat process to make sure its a 34, replace/repair sensor as needed
