1995 altima, hesitates misses in low gear from stop. Doesn't do it when cold. I can floor it and it smooths out after about 15 seconds. Runs great at higher speeds. I'm not sure where to start, fuel filter, spark plugs, injector, etc. It has a code, I can't remember the number but it had to do with the speed sensor, the speedometer doesn't work sometimes. thanks for any help

I doubt speed sensor is related. It sounds like you might have an intake leak near teh number 4 cyl. Try spraying carb clean or brake clean in the area underneath number 4 cyl. This is done at idle. The car should have a slightly rough idle as well. When you spray you should see a brief slight improvement in the idle. If so you need to replace the intake gasket [ not an easy task by any means] If this doesnt reveal anything you may want to take a look at the cap see how it looks inside, also look down in the spark plug wells for oil or moisture in there. Take a look at your plugs, if not NGK replace them with NGK. Nissans dont like other plugs for the most part. When you have the cap off look to see if you have any oil in the distributor. If theres oil in there it will cause problems with the crank angle sensor. The only repair for that is distributor replacement.

i would do a compression test and then check out some elec stuff. try monitoring maf voltage and coolant temp sensor resistance while its messing up. the maf wire you want to monitor is the white wire(iirc).
