When i start the car up cold and push it, it will run fine its only when it warms up that is starts to run terrible. It almost runs as if the A/C is on all the time. What could be the problem?

Its a 95 240sx with short ram and exhaust. My maf was reading incorrectly for the voltage, could that cause it to be really hesitant?

Fix the maf... if the problem is still there, then think about temp sensors that might be out of whack.

I replaced my temp sensor and knock sensor recently because they both threw a code. I'll have to find a maf and see if that will slove it, why only some times it will be hesitant and other times not if its a maf? wouldnt that be all the time?

its probably only dirty..use electronic cleaner to clean it and try it again..but if your voltage is not checking out then its possible you do need a new one..so clean it first then see what happens

I had a similar problem. It turned out to be the cyc. 3 ignition wire wasn't making a good connection with the plug because the end would melt when the engine warmed up. This caused misfires and made the car hesitant at certain RPM's. Oh and the car ran perfectly while it was cold.

Hey guys, what voltage should the MAF be reading at? Also how exactly do I test it. I have a similar problem, but its my idle that sucks.

nice thread jack haha ...voltage should be 12v on your power wire and 5v on your 5v wire and the other is a ground..if your only having bad idle then its probably not your maf. when your maf is bad your engine will run rich and be hesitant and/or misfire. if you are having bad idle check your iacv first and check for vacuum leaks
