robert (rjdmmfl1) installed one on his car, with an after market alarm. His is a very high quality system that works pretty seamlessly with the intellikey.

Yes, you can ground out the clutch switch and trick the car into thinking the clutch is pushed in, so the car will start right up. Just dont leave it in gear

I spoke to the nissan dealership for them to install an auto start they quoted me $700. I went to best buy and a car sterio place and both guys told me they do not have a bypass for the coupe yet so they basically have to make their own and cant guarentee that if someone got in the car without the intellikey that the car would shut off. That definitely scared me into not buying one just yet.

Best buy associates and installers range from very knowledgable to completely incompetent... you ran into the latter!

HI All... First Post!

I've called up 5 different installers today in the Northern Virginia area.

ANY remote starter system will work. BUT you need what is called a CanSl2. This is a Fortin piece. There you will have a long set of instructions. FOLLOW THEM!!! The Cansl2 will do everything and work everytime. $600 is a good price to NOT have to give up a key and have the system work with not replace the factory system. We do these for a dealer in CT but it does take a while for a qualified installer. DO NOT GO TO THE CHAIN STORES!!! Bestbuy and the Circus (ha ha) can't help you. In our area they send it to us. Again not sooooooooo hard just a longer than normal install.
