Its a Belltronics Vector FA2. As far as 0-60, 1/4 mile times etc go it registers and starts the time when it "feels" a foward movement stronger than .01 of a G,likewise it stops when it feels an opposite movement indicating your stopping. The thing is real sensative, Ive tipped it off before Ive done runs by simply jumping around in the seat. As far as horsepower goes thats a whole different matter,As you guessed you plug in your vehicles wieght and do a run. The Accelerometer automaticly calculates your rear wheel horsepower based on how long it takes a vehicle of that wieght to move that far. While its pretty accurate its still affected by outside influences such as how good of a jump you got, if your tires hooked up etc. So its really only accurate based on your best times.Hardly a substitute for a dyno, but then again it kind of puts things into perspective that the reason we do what we do in cars is to go fast, not to increase horespower. And as far as reflecting how fast you went it does remarkably well.
