Hey all of you 300zx guys, I have been trying to search for this for atleast 2-3 months, and I couldnt find anything on it still.......I need your help and what you guys know, because I am really serious about this, I am not trying to put a SR20 or a RB in a 300zx, I want a 300zx motor in a 300zx.....So this is the question, which one person have gave me a few facts a while ago, but not enough to actually do a swap.............OK here it is "What is needed to swap a VG30DETT in a Z31???? I think i will need custom wiring, mounts and a driveshaft.........thats what I heard, is there anything that is different that will make the swap easier or some good pointers???answers are appreciated......thanks

aside from being able to say you did it there is little to justify the added expense of the VG30DETT over the VG30ET, the VG30ET has such a high potential and you have half as many parts to buy! if money is no object by all means go for it but if there is any budget in mind your gonna want to stick to the VG30ET

Well I went to the website before.................So its pretty much alot of custom stuff and it would take alot of time to get the swap done so I would be better off with the VG30ET????Thanks for the answers you guys....

Be better off buying a Z32. Even though you'll hear the Z31 guys disagree and chant the praises of the Z31....the Z32 is a FAR superior car in all aspects.

you'll be better off with a z32 twin turbo or na, you can get them pretty affordable and in decent shape and be much better off. hell i'd say find a poor running na or tt and drop in an sr, but I'd still back up the ttz32, its proven and it comes that way and there are tons of chassis and engine parts for it, moreso than the z31

Well, since you started the Z31 vs Z32 debate, anyone can make a $10,000 Z31 run circles around a $10,000 Z32.

Yes, the Z32 is a better platform to start with, but the costs usually associated with modifications are usually about double what Z31 owners are doing.

I like both myself. There was a Black Z31 in Sport Z last quarter that was uber PIMP!

My heart lies with the s130 though.

Yep. Kevin's Z is very well done. Everything is clean and almost factory looking. Very professional. I just hope he has it put back together for Branson this year.

So its just too much work and with the price I would be spending in it I could have a Z32 right? And does anyone have any links of the guy you guys were talking about with the Z31???with a Z31 VG30DETT swap period? besides the one you gave me AZ-Bum.........thanks to everyone that has helped me out, i really appreciate it!!!

And I wouldnt mind doing a RB20 in one if the swap aws more direct, because I saw that they came with RB20s in japan, and I also found this.....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1 If it was cheaper than the VG I would consider that too.....
