It's a bit tube-shaped. The interior is nice, but they might water that down for the production car.

I WILL KILL EVERYTHING.

A formless blob whose few details resemble the Camry. That roofline/c-pillar/deck are abominable. And it's yet ANOTHER car to feature Ford's now-signature "I don't know what to do with this body line behind the rear fender so let's add some factory body damage" dent-line-detail-thingy. Taurus has it. Exploder has it. MKZ has it. It looks stupid. Just kill the damn line off, don't bring it back for 3 inches of pointlessness.

And I THINK it's probably safe to stop sticking Chris Bangle's butt on cars now that he's moved on to clothing design and other such nonsense that doesn't ruin stuff I like.

Lincoln is dead to me. At least Cadillac managed to follow up a mistake with a potential home run. I don't really see this car doing anything for the brand...of course selling 3 a month would probably triple sales for most Lincoln dealers so I could be wrong.

Is it me or does the dashboard on the drivers side look like it's laughing at you?

I don't really mind the trademark nose they swiped from Pontiac, or rear end treatment they stole from the Dodge Charger. IMHO the sleek/sporty shape does not seem to go with what is otherwise a fairly mundane luxury sedan.

What's with all the new cars having an absurd number of sunroofs these days? I don't even like having 1 sunroof. On a side note I am glad to see horizontal taillamps making a come back. I do not like pickup truck style taillamps on cars.

Yeah these tail lamps are really pretty. The shape and form reminds me of the Mark VIII and a tiny bit of the Acura NSX.

It's such a blob of a car. The nose looks like it has jowls.

The steering wheel is laughing at itself and if you look at the dash as eyebrows and the center console as a mouth its screaming at you

The Kia Optima has the same steering wheel shape. Once you see the clown face, you can't unsee it.

The roof is pretty neat, and the interior is totally liveable. However, that outside would look better crushed between a semi-truck and an Amtrak train.

I love everything aside from the front clip. I don't hate the front, but I don't love it either. It's still by far better than the current one, but the 1st generation one was still my favorite one personally.

I wouldn't buy any of them though - because i'm not interested in overpaying for a slightly oversized Fusion.

I feel like they were on the right track but then the guy with all the good ideas went on vacation and they finished the car without him.

Apparently shortly after Jalopnik said some bad things about it, it caught on fire :chuckle:

Thats amusing, Clearly Ford is taking the wrong route when they try to "smoke the competition".

Well at least they're making up for it with this: http://jalopnik.com/5874731/50th-annive ... zing-power

Up to 800hp available from the dealer! I still don't understand what good that much power will do you in a car like that, but at least it would be a blast in straight lines

It's baffling because Max Wolff also worked on the CTS and CTS wagon, two absolutely stunning cars.

I think the difference may be that at Lincoln, he's the lead director while at GM he worked under Ed Wellburn.

It won't sell to the 70+ geisers because they would need a co-pilot to read/handle all the small buttons. Plus the gauges are way to small. Looks like the front end has had a face lift from a BMW and now looks like Joan Rivers.

Lincoln doesn't WANT it to sell to geezers. They've set their sites on Acura buyers (which I find baffling). The don't want the would-be Buick buyers, instead they want to attract well-off 20-something males who like chrome, gadgets, and bragging about their $40k FWD badge-engineered "luxury" car to waitresses at douchebag clubs while posting to Facebook on their iPhone.

Attracting younger buyers is how the CTS saved/transformed Cadillac into what it is today. Lincoln is under the delusion that the MKZ is the ticket to ride that train. What's frustrating isn't merely that the MKZ is NOT that ticket, but that Lincoln HAD the ticket just a few years ago and let it go. The LS was it. It was everything the CTS is--I'd even go so far as to say it's superior to its contemporary 1st gen CTS. And Lincoln completely missed the boat. And now they're trying to sell Fusions with moustaches.

The brand is pointless. Ford axed the Mercury brand because it was nothing more than Fords with chrome on the lights. Now they're made Lincoln into the same thing.

Those headlights are so ...squinty. I'd imagine light output at night would be incredibly poor with a really sharp cut-off. What a horrible looking car...and what's with the rear trunk line? Bleh.

The Mark VIII had the same problem. Once those thin lenses yellowed just a tiny bit, you couldn't see a darn thing.

agreed.

I want that suicided 4 door concept Lincoln made a few years back that I do believe involved a V10.

Make that. Ford needs a Halo car damnit!
