Cool!!! We like Yankees that come down here and love the south and don't moan and groan about everything!! I was born in NC and am blessed with great neighbors from the north who love the south. Pretty soon, I'll be having them eating grits!!!infinitgkid wrote:lol i was born and raised in new jersey, it was alright n' all but when we moved to the south, i feel in love with it...
I don't plan on goin back north to live anytime soon...
First off, if it was 70cents, that would be the Garden State Parkway. No stick, just a basket. In fact, your not even suppose to stop. You are suppose to slow down just enough to toss your $ in the basket and continue on.WhiteyClay wrote:Yeah 2 months ago I was going to NJ to pick up rims for my G. So on the way in there was a toll .70cents.I didnt have the .70cents so i droped 3 quarters (.75cents).The light became green or that stick opened, I cant remeber which one it was...but it gave me a sign to move on.Now 2months later I get a mail with a ticket with 25$ fine and plus .70cents.So I'm mad cuz Im not gonna take a day off and go fight a 25$ticket and might loose. Something visitors to NJ should realise before entering: NJ drivers are all offensive drivers. It works out very well actually. Everyone speeds, lane changes are fast, merges are fast. Most of the problems I see on our highways are from NY+PA+MD drivers. NOT because they are poor drivers, but simply because they are much more defensive. On our roads, defence will get you killed.all G’d up wrote:their drivers are the worst (no offense to NJ NICO drivers)
I know what you mean. But since I got my G with the xenon highbeams, they seems to get out of my way a bit quicker now, lol.all G’d up wrote:Yeah I feel you about the left lane thing, but when I drive in Jersey, it's all Jersey drivers in the left lane going under the speed limit and no matter how long you tail gate them, flash your lights or beep at them they don't move over even if they can...
I first looked at this and just laughed... but once you edited the post....I might take this personally... No need to take it down this road...I know you stay away from NY as far as possible... NJTPke and GStatePkwy has more troopers set up there then yellow cabs in manhattan.... so ill take my time driving and obey speed limit... I dont need to come back to NJ just to fight a stoopid ticket... Its bad enough i had to go there once but thats just because some New Jersey dude was selling his Almost brand new 19inch rims(06 coupe) with brand new tires for 400 bucks... I guess they're not that really smart there...take that for a LOL........................ ....hehehe j/kbut seriously he wasnt that smart at all....SneaKe wrote:First off, if it was 70cents, that would be the Garden State Parkway. As for the ticket, consider it tax for being from NY and probably driving slow as h3ll in our left lane.
Also, being from NY, you may want to take a course on highway-driving/toll-booth operation. It seems a few of your kind could use the practice:
J/K. That ticket was uncalled for. I've never paid the Parkway toll even ONCE. I simply toss a penny or two in the direction of the basket while at speed.
Oh, and I was serious about the left lane thing, stay out. Its ours!
So you are another one of the New Yorkers that come to NJ without an EZ Pass and screw up the traffic on our Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike. Then you drive slow in the left lane and refuse to move to the right? Go apply for an EZ Pass on a credit card. You can never have a toll fine charge violation hold up with an EZ Pass account. The toll readers work even at 60 MPH. Make sure you mount it correctly & don't be like most New Yorkers that first start to look for it as they approach a toll booth & try to hold it up while making everyone else slow down (Wasting my regular gas and brake pads)BTW Gov Corzine needs the money to balance the state budget. Thanks for stopping by. Gas is cheaper and no tax on clothes.WhiteyClay wrote:Yeah 2 months ago I was going to NJ to pick up rims for my G. (Great deal...400$ for 19's of 06 coupe). Its actually a very interesting situation when you think about it.
In NJ, go fast, go quick, go home.
My wife and I actually block bungholes that drive faster than us or are unsafe when we see them.all G’d up wrote:Yeah I wish that was the case, but how come I get stuck on every highway in Jersey with 3 lanes of people driving the same speed (the speed limit or under) and I can't pass anyone until finally one of the lanes (usually the middle or right lane) person goes a little faster or a little slower and then I totally cut them off...I will admit to PA drivers driving slower, but they are always in the right lane when driving slow so I can easily pass them on the left without a problem... My cousin lives in south jersey and I ask him how do you deal with these drivers, he said he hates it too but its what he's used to
Well I'm not sure if I can but I'll try. Sorry your trip to NJ was a disappointment to you. First we don't allow guns for a very good reason. We don't understand why anyone needs to carry a gun. Are you going to risk a manslaughter or murder charge for a fender bender? Most left turns are prohibited here in NJ. We have "jughandles". Follow the U Turn signs to the right & bear left & wait for the light to change. NJ is a very congested state with very heavy traffic almost around the clock. Most NJ drivers try to avoid being near out of staters because they are usually very confused & don't know where they are going. Newark Airport is a jumble of roads constructed at different times with many confusing signs that are difficult even for us locals. You need to read the signs while watching the road & cars all around you. Driving in Manhattan is entirely different and if you are not used to it that can also be quite intimidating to someone from out of state. Most of the west has lots of space, wide roads and much less traffic. If you can drive in NJ, Wash, DC, Boston, Manhattan you can drive most anywhere. We have the four seasons, Long Beach Island, Atlantic City, many other beaches on the Jersey shore, some great restaurants, and mountains in North Jersey. You saw very little of NJ. And yes unfortunately there are $sshole drivers in every state.Do come back again and spend more time.gwoods wrote:Sentient,
cause we shoot folks in traffic down here.
I went to Jersey once. I felt right at home with the speeding but was shocked SHOCKED I tell you when I'm waiting to make a left turn onto a single lane road and some jackhole pulls up on the shoulder and attempts to make the same left turn onto the same 1 lane road??? It happened more then once and I am an aggressive driver? Anyone from Jersey care to explain that one too me?
Leaving we almost missed our flight. I got on the turn pike by the airport by mistake while returning the car then cut accross the dirt to get back to the airport car return. We made the flight.
And New York? The only reason I know Queens is I lived there many years agoWhiteyClay wrote:Yeah 2 months ago I was going to NJ to pick up rims for my G. (Great deal...400$ for 19's of 06 coupe). Try Mexico. I still need to post pix of my weekend in Ensenada, but anyways. I think I had one of 20 new cars in a 100 mile radius. Kinda scary. Especially in Tijuana.telcoman wrote:
