I dig the lip kit, not so much the spoiler, though they all need to be yellow, IMO.

Nice start!

A GTI is faster than a Spec V (New or old) Stock for Stock. However if you didnt read my GTI makes 265 BHP (thats about 225whp). Bigger credit payment? huh? you mean car note? My monthly payment is only a little more than what the Spec cost me (before i paid it off) its cheaper to insure than a Spec. Easier to mod for more power on the cheap and certainly has a MUCH better interior than a Spec (or a 240sx for that matter)

Talk about Slow and your looking for a 240? the only way those can be fast is with an engine swap. seriously dude, dont start.

i have to say i got this spec v after driving an 04 1.8T and the 07 1.8T and the only time i miss the gti is at the stop light it felt a bit quicker on take off but track times dissagree, i feel the power more with the Spec the gti felt more like a bottle rocket with the whistle in the 04 although the new ones quieter have more power but even with bolt ons they still come up a hair short of the spec although i will admit a good driver still can make those cars worth it

The problem with the 04 GTI is that they are pig heavy ask any VW owner. the MK 3 and MK 4 were complete disappointments. Check out the reviews for the MK5. More appraise and accolades than most cars in its segment. this is the reason why decided to buy one. More refinement and better driving dynamics than most of its competitors.

Even in the 2009 comparison (a platform that is now 5 years old) still managed to edge out a New Cobalts SS, New WRX, New Ralliart Lancer, Civic SI, and JCW mini. The Mazda Speed 3 is the only car that beat it. The GTI is slower than most of these (Stock) yet still managed to score enough points to make 2nd for 2 years in a row. http://www.caranddriver.com/re...ge)/1

looks pretty good. That hood looks familiar, it reminds me of someone elses spec. Are you sure that's an 03 or did you do a front end swap?
