Hi - my AC make a growling noise when its engaged and increases the faster I go. When it was under warrantee - I would tell the dealer and they never fixed it. The extended warrantee is finished now and I often wonder if this is serious.Joe

Usually ac compressors last a little beyond [60k] warranty but most are done by 120-150k.................what service on ac was ever performed [new compressor oil, new receiver dryer, anything?]

Could be something simple like belt idler tensioner bearings need replacing.

Take it to dealer or QUALIFIED AC repair facility for a diagnosis.

this is/was a known problem on the early (square trunk handle/logo) 2003 m.y. V35s. mine used to soundsomewhat akin to a weedwhacker until they replaced the compressor. i think they finally came out with an itb on it, but that was 4 years ago (i sold mine 2+ years ago).anyway, get the itb, and push to still have it fixed by infiniti, since you logged the complaint deuring warantee, but they were unable to resolve.
