It looks like maybe a day trip to the beautiful Salton Sea (close to 29 Palms). Are you in Palm Springs soaking up the sun?

The fish is a mozambique tilapia which is an invasive species that was brought over from south africa. They thrive in water with high salinity. They introduced them to the area YEARS ago for livestock purposes. Has to be near the salton sea. Great area!

Meh, the sign says Coachella valley, the thick layer of salt encrusting the wood posts (evil spirits) , turkey vultures are ALL over that area, also the license plate says California. The fourth picture has entire fish preserved in salt. But yeah, the closeup of the fish was what instantly gave it away for me.
