EGR with hoses replaced. I couldn't get it to come off. So, I left it on and sprayed carbureator cleaner into it periodically. I think I'm going to clamp it off anyways. Stupid thing. Look what it did to my plenum. The EGR is what caused all that build-up. . So, I'll be getting out my handy dandy Vice Grips and clamping that ***** shut

Plenums Off

Notice the front page of the users manual in the upper right corner. That thing was completely useless

From front looking into the Valley

Notice the corrosion on the main heater pipe. Also, notice the corrosion on the Metal Y.

Those are all the pictures that I have so far.

I have replaced all the hoses except for the two that come off of the Metal Y and the one that is near the IAC.

I figured, while I was in there, I might as well replace the fuel lines with some better stuff. . So, I did that. All 100psi hoses.

I am thinking about replaceing the rubber hoses that come from the Brake Fluid resevoir on the passenger side. They look a little worn.

I still have to replace the PCV valve. I can't find anybody that has the right size hoses to fit the Metal Y . Stupid Nissan , they had to make there stuff an odd size. I think I am going to have to go to either the Nissan or Infiniti Dealer for those two . Those two are probably going to cost more than I paid for all of the other hoses .

Anyways. I'll try to get some more film today. I should have more pictures by the end of the week. I'll be selling them as "Art Work".

PMQ....just curious as to why you have so many parts with surface rust on them? Is this typical for a car? I don't have any surface rust on any components on my car as I noticed your EGR thingy was very rusty on the outside and mine is still shiny and I don't clean my engine compartment as often as I should. I cleaned it for the first time in 4+ years this past spring.

Great pictures! Looks like it has seen a lot of salt, and not too many filters.

Cleaning the TB and manifold will be a career. Hope the rogue hoses work for a while after it's reassembled.

The car has never seen salted roads. To my knowledge, at least. There is no rust on the lower body panels. And that is the place where rust from salt usually shows up.

What do you mean, "not too many filters"? I don't understand that statement.

I used carbureator cleaner first. Then I dipped it in a tub of Purple Power. That cleaned it out very good. Very little scrubbing was needed.

there is a bug in the site. you can only view the pictures from nicoclub.com

if you [like me] are signed into nissaninfiniticlub.com , then you get a "remote linking" error.

This is an example of how I protected the hoses. This method also allows the hoses to make tight radius' without kinking

Here are the pieces of crap that are holding me up.

I am even too cheap to go buy the gaskets for them. How do my custom made ones look? I also made the gasket for the Throttle Body.

This is the stereo that was in my car. I don't know if I'll put it back in when I'm done. It sounds way better than most car stereos.
