For the history of the car etc., check out this thread http://www.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=91470&page=1

Here's what I've found out so far since having the car for 9 days. HandlingWith blown rear shocks, the car handles way better than my civic did WITH AGX+prokit combo. Can't wait till the AGX+prokit set gets installed on Wednesday.

PowerDifferent car. Very different. Even though the S14 makes more power than the EG, the power delivery is more immediate and "down low". Blessings from the gods of torque I guess. Where the civic never really got going untill it was screaming in VTEC (5500 RPM), the S14 jumps off the line like a bat outta hell. Party starts at around 4500 (correct me if I'm wrong) but kinda fades out at the top near redline. Suits my driving style better though.

Going from 5th to 4th and back to 5th on the highway is a blast especially when I need to overtake someone .

BrakesFour wheel discs are great. Need to get Axxis Metal Master pads soon. Rotors need turning also but I might replace em with Poweslot units. (worked great on the front disc only civic)

Fuel economyGood lord what a huge tank you have my dear! The EG cost ~$20 -$21 to fill, this ride cost $32. Civic gave me 260 miles from a full tank to bone dry (trust me I've checked), the S14 got to 320 miles and was still runnning. Will take it for extended testing when I get a portable gas container.

StylingS14 wins hands down. It got real boring real fast everytime I saw another black 4DR, tinted civic w/ aftermarket tails pass me. Worse yet is whenI'm feeling very cool in my uber mobile and an old lady drives past me in the same car. All coolness get blown out my tailpipe.

I've havent seen many S14s around here, and I've sonly seen 2 modified ones on I95. Rare car indeed. I'ts nice not seeing your ride pass you in the opposite direction every 2-3 miles.

InteriorFeels kinda crapmed inside for how big it looks outside. Would it have killed Nissan to give us some damn cupholders? Nice visibility all around. Seats are better than the civic's but I want more lumbar support. Have to learn how to heal&toe downshift again. Lot less room to work with. Backseat? What backseat? Having kids soon so I'll need to get another car within 9 months. With so little backseat, one would guess that there would be more trunk space.

Overall I'm very satisfied with the car but wish I didn't wait so long for it. But everythign happens when it is supposed to so I'm happy. I've given as much comparison between the two cars that I can give. If you've read this far, here are the pictures.

Those of you who jumped ahead to the pics, shame on you I say, shame on you

My first "mod' was to wash the engine. I don't know how a car got so dirty. I'll have to pull the dash apart 'cause I see some nasty dust stuff in the A/C tract. The next was replacing the torn and useless factory speakers. I'm trying out some Silvania Silverstars as well. The Suspension gets modified on 12/8/04.

Recently came back from a drive through the Sahara Desert.

looking better after 2 treatments.

What's the name of this color?

Nice View. Love those 5 lug alloys.

Ditto.

Snug fit

Nasty gap. Will fix on Wednesday

Custom Plate has been ordered.

Does the rear look better than the front?

Now here are the pictures if the Silverstars vs Regular Halogen. If you don't know, the regular is ont eh Passenger side. Gonna go test it outside now to see if I get any more lumens from the SStars.

thank you. I used Regular foam engine degreaser and Extra Heavy non-foam version for large oil deposits/dirty areas.

Let engine cool, spray liberally, wife off any overspray immediately. lEt sit for 15 minutes. you can scrub with a tooth brush also. Blast off engine with hose. Highe power pressure washer works best. I just used garden hose. Make sure you cover your intake and electrical connections etc.

Let car Idle till dry.

Why wont some pics load? Argh gotta go track down problem with comcast.... be right back.

well unless one of you nice guys drove by and swpped it in the night, it is the smae. It's real easy to do. One of my Maxima buddies got me real jealous by showing off his fresh from the factory clean 99 MAX engine bay. Ever since then I've been cleaning my buddies engines. Looks like you are one of the few stuck with the green interiors. Atleast it matches the outside color.

The car looks really good, and congratz on your new car. Have fun with it.

don't know man. I live near Washington DC so traffic is killer here. A lot of stop and go stuff. I shift at 3K, nad never over 4K when I'm rushing. If I got 370 outta the S14 I'd be more than happy.

Congrats on the new car! I remember reading your original thread and thinking about the ordeal it was to find to my own little s13. It's also very nice to see another Jamaican here on the boards. I like your personal plate too. Mine will say "PPC" for "poom-poom conqueror! Muwahahaaha!!

maximus, that's funny because the very first thing i did when i got my car was clean the engine bay. i headed straight to those do-it-yourself carwash places with filtered high-pressure water. but instead of a canned "degreaser", i used simple green. my engine bay looks great like yours.

congratulations on your new car!

my wife was allowed to drive the civic. she's kinda pissed that she's only driven the s14 4 times.

kouki-gymkhana - when was the last time you went back home? What is the "hot" car right now. Last one I heard about was the EVO7. A friend of mine crashed his dad's R34 last week.

Hey Maximus, some guys were out in Rockville this weekend at the Barnes and Noble. I thought it was done for the year, but there were a few cars out on Saturday night. If we get some decent weather next weekend, you should check it out.

I didn't know that mna. I was up there on Friday over by the Starbucks but saw no one. Around 11:30. When I decided to leave, I saw a modified STi getting pulled over.

Next time, drop me an email before you go. Next weekend I'll be in NY. holla.
