that makes no sense, because a maf fails and it has a non oem filter, unless proven, doesnt mean the oil killed it. so as you laugh go to your local dealership and ask if a maf has ever been replaced without visible damage.

a stated before ive cleaned a many intakes from throttle body to filter due to spitting up oil and the maf worked fine guess youll say K&N oil worse?

Jag MAFs and Nissan MAFs may be differernt.

But if there's OIL in the intake tract, that's a problem. And oil finding its way onto the MAF element WILL affect driveability and performance.

When you say "...the MAF worked fine", that means nothing. Was it in spec? What were the high / low ranges?

K&N kills Nissan MAFs. Search old threads on the forum.

i agree oil in intake is bad, my point being that if engine oil can get on a maf and it doesnot KILL it then how can K&N oil do that. i have seen, and im sure others also, mafs fail without unknown reason. i have had water enter intakes and mafs not die.

by specs and engine performance, these mafs were fine. somebody prove it and there will be no more debate.

ive owned nissan and infin for 15 years all have had K&N, some drop ins some cones... no maf replacements. i dont over oil and i clean regularly.

my only worry is this iso test, when was it done?

Enough STOCK FED Nissan MAF die or get flaky or just lose calibration vs mass air flow after warranty [70k] that adding any new variable [oil, cotton fibers, modified air shaping/distortions] is just asking for it.

Most MAF failures, intermitents, hiccups are caused by cold solder joints on the internal circuit board or use of a improper solvent on the sensing element...........the thermistor is coated with a plastic protectant that can be washed away.

Since the air flow is always inward [except during a backfire] hard for oil vapor to go backwards from plenum to the MAF even at idle.
