This Skyline was a fun project this week, though it was a bit tense since today was the deadline for it. The owners were supposed to come from Florida to pick it up (they ended up not being able to). To give a bit of background, the car belongs to the wife of a guy in the military, and they had it brought over with them. The car's been through some rough times (parts have stolen off it, the car itself has been stolen, etc). To make a long story short, it's here now, at my fiance's shop. Over the course of the last week, we put the engine/trans in and exhaust on, and got it running well despite the couple year old gas in the tank and nasty autolite plugs in the RB.

Here's how it started out:

It's in good shape, though there is some rust near the strut towers.

Most people at the shop felt the seats were a tighter fit than was comfortable. I wasn't a fan of the tach.

My fiance and I have each driven RHD before, he a considerable amount more than I, but it is pretty easy to get used to.

Decided the to change the plugs at home one evening:

This is why you don't put Autolite plugs in an RB:

I had never had anything like that happen before. Barely any pressure to turn the ratchet and the plug snapped. Crazy! Replaced with some NGKs though.
Compared to all the work we did with my swap (obviously), this was so nice and easy. I wouldn't want the headache of owning it, but it was fun to have around for a while. :) Here's the car (and my car) when it was complete.

And that tach could use a good dousing and lit on fire, outside of the R33 naturally.

Just a suggestion too.

Yeah, I don't really like the tach either. That was actually the first thing I had to remove from my car when I bought it. But I guess it's what they like. They have a Stillway brand exhaust on the car which I had never heard of, but it looks and sounds great. The welds on it are beautiful! I might be able to take pictures in the next couple days if they don't pick it up.
I'll see if my fiance can hint to them about the front bumper too, lol! Right now I think they're just lucky it wasn't stolen with other parts.

wait, that's a tach on the dash?

I thought it was an alternator....

autolites are generally a good plug, weird stuff happens though.

I just love it because you could sit in the trunk and access the fuel pump. LOTS of room! No cramped space. :bigthumb:

lol...it think I can pull up the back seat in my car to get to mine.

I had to drop the exhaust and tank on my old T Bird to get to it...that sucked.

Autolites ran fine in my RB. I never had a plug do that, ever.
Bad plug or one that some hobby shop hero screwed in with a half inch breaker bar back in Japan.
