help wont start.

the install is done. the wiring is correct cause the interior come on and the fuel pump runs for three seconds and then cuts off. the starter clicks but wont kick over the engine, doesnt even try. starter is good, had it tested yesterday. i think it has something to do with the grounding system or the battery. i know im not the only one to have this problem have tried some of those tricks and they didnt work. any help would be nice.

by the way its a 90fb with a s13 redtop.

buddy of mine had a grounding problem. Tossed an extra ground on the head to the body and started.

Check alternator grounds, as well as the engine grounds.

I wiggled my negative battery terminal and mine started lol.

try cleaning your negative terminal too. i had an issue once where the starter would click and then all of my electronics would kick out 3 seconds later. I cleaned the terminal and everything worked

nice fat grounds are good. if it clicks it should be turning over. there is power going to the big terminal right? is it a nice fat wire hooked up to a good power source? i have one of my extra grounds going from the bellhousing to the chassis.

here's where i am now. after realizing the lower harness in my car didnt gound to anything i pulled the lower harness out of my clip. for the love of god buy the whole clip not just the swap its worth every penny. so i put the clip harness in there and now the starter motor spins but it doesnt kit over the engine? i think its in the relay, obviously. being more specific, the little arm that kicks the starter gear into the fly wheel came off when i took the starter motor apart, the starter was bad so i rebuilt. tomorrow i will reset the arm and see if that works.

we have fire, hah ahahahaha hahahahahahah ahahaah! after a puff of smoke that smelled keenly like wd40, turbo was a bit stiff, from the turbo elbow, dont have exhaust yet, she lit and runs marvelously. pics to follow look for a new thread. thanks for all the ideasif you have any problems with your own swap email me and i'll do what i can to help.

all right, i was quite happy when mine fired up too. i had a similar prob but it was just lack of grounding. my starter attempted to ground through the throttle cable. then i put the grounds on and it turned over. after that i just had to jump the neutral saftey circuit and disable the aftermarket alarm.
