I just installed an alarm in to my 92 240sx hatchback and now for some reson it wont go over 4800-5000 RPM's. But the weard thin is it only does this in 5th gear. Its fine in 1st-4th and neutral, but in 5th it does that. And its not the computer either, I took the computer out of my other 240sx to see if that's what it was and it made no difference. Anybody know what it might be?

Have you taken off the revlimiter?

sounds like a speed limiter to me, how fast is 4800 rpm in fifth gear? 80 mph is 3500 rpm in my 90 240sx, 4800 has to be around 110 or so

Its your speed limiter. you can easily disable it, but IMO there is no reason to. if you do decide to disable it, make sure you upgrade your tires to ones that are rated for higher speeds.
