got a 1999 q45t with a check engine light. obdII says its the egr solenoid so i order the part and received it. almost put it on but checked the FSM first and looks like the part i was going to change was the evap control solenoid! the part looks exactly the same as my egr solenoid! looked under the plenum and i finally find the faulty component. my question: is there anyway to change this solenoid w/o removing the plenum? has it been done before? oh yeah i have the dreaded stumble too on idle...no codes for any misfires but the car is running lean. i think the intake manifold is leaking and causing this stumble. what you guys think?

Stumble is coils.

EGR code is likely a bad rubber hose-take a look.

Prepare for the next post to be Maxnix telling you to yank your intake and lick it clean.

Yep, I had a spilt hose which threw on the EGR code too. Nice car man. I'm not a fan of lowered Q's, but yours looks pretty good. It's isn't too low. I still don't know why Infiniti designed the Y33 jacked so high in the air?

Don't recall I have ever heard of it on any Q45. Have you cleaned the EGR valve and the EGR tube in the plenum? Think you might get a code if the former were inoperable and the later were blocked.

Plenums don't spontaneously start leaking unless they have been loosened, removed or mechanically penetrated. Vacuum hoses are a whole 'nother thing.

You likely don't have to replace yours. Check all rubber hoses and you'll likely find one that is cracked.
