Hey guys I got a question about some rims i just got and kinda worried about fitment... I email the people i got them from and they said it would work without any spacers but I think I am going to need them. I have a set of Ruff Racing R280's 18"x8.5" - 35 offset on front and 18"x9.5" - 45 offset on Rear, I am going to use 225/40r18 on front and 245/40r18 on rear. with the offset I think I am going to run in with some rubbing on the side wall. Will I need a spacer and what size? I have all ready looked on the wheel fitment thread and no one on there has the offset I have. I need a real rim and tire guru.

Thanks for your help.

Here are some pics to help....

If you really have -45 offset your screwed, theres no spacer to counter act negative offset.

Offset is the measurment between the mounting face and outside lip of the rim, positive offset is when the mounting face is more towards the outside of the rim and negative is more towards the inside.

Im hoping you mean + so you can get spacers and make them fit right.

it probably is a negative. I only need about an inch and a half to push it away from the inside wall. It could be positive the mounting surface is closer to the out side then it is to the inside.

sorry guy thats definately a positive offset, run a 20mm spacer up front and a 25 in the rear with a roll and possibly a light pull in the rear, i would run a slightly smaller tire on the rear though 235/40/18 should be good

sure I don't need a 25mm on front and a 38mm on Rear? I am also thinking for going with some 20mm wide fenders on front and probably a 50mm rear fender.

if you get wider fenders, buy new wheels, there is no point in trying to make bad size wheels fit ok, when you can get good size wheels with no spacers a 38mm spacer on rear would make it effectively a 18x9.5 +7 you woud need a NASTY pull and some camber to pull that off

a 20mm spacer up front would become a 18x8.5 +15 offseta 25mm spacer in the rear would be a 18x9.5+20 which would be pretty close to flush and fit under stock fenders
