I'm running the same tire/wheel setup and they fit just fine on my car. I believe 205/40/17 is the cheapest size tire you can buy for 17" wheels.. You can get the Kuhmo ECSTA 712s for only $340 at tirerack. I was gonna go with the recommended tire size which is 205/45/17 but my brother just couldn't wait to show off MY rims so we went with Bridgestone Daytona 205/40/17s for $400 at a local Wheel Works shop. Your speedometer will be 3 mph off (running 67mph @70mph) and a lot of people will bug you to drop the front a little but you don't really have to. Take a look at mine (Pic 1, Pic 2).
Also, the manager at the wheel works shop recommended either a 215/40 or 215/45, which actually fits better (no spacers needed) and is more accurate than a 205/40. I was told that my tires would not last long so make sure you get either 205/45, 215/40 or 215/45 next time you buy new tires for your car.
