Hello,

I have a 2008 altima 2.5 with Disc brakes in the front and back. I am feeling a pulsating sensation when pressing on the brake pedal. I removed the front tires and had a look at the rotors and pads. All looks good, plenty of meat on the pads and the rotors look clean. I'm going to remove and have a look at the back brakes tonight.

Is there anything i should be looking out for??

How many miles do you have on the brakes? You can start by taking your car to a shop to have your brakes inspected. You may be able to get away with just having your rotors turned.

Could be a brake pad wearing unevenly or a slightly warped rotor.

My rotors started to warp at 45,000 Im at 47,000 getting them changed this net weekend. Also I would rotate tires after you get new rotors

I believe the problem may be coming from the back brakes. The front side of the rotor on the driver side has lots of rust on it. If I spin the wheel and apply the brakes the tire stops so i think it's only the front pad that is not getting pushed in.

Could this be causing the vibration?? Also, I'm having trouble removing the bolts that go into the slider pins.I sprayed them with PB Blaster but they aren't budging. I have a 2 feet extension that I can add to my ratchet for more leverage but I'm afraid of snapping off the bolts. Any advice on remove those bolts??

You need to either have that rotor turned or, better yet, replaced. I would do both rears and do pads while you're at it. Have the wheel bearings and suspension checked or do it your self if you are doing the job. With the tires off the ground spin them to check the bearings. If the rotor is interfering, you may have to wait to check the bearing at the end, but at least you'll know how they are.

4th Gen Altimas (and first gen coupes) are known for their relatively weak OEM brakes. The rotors are prone to warping, and as such pads can wear unevenly.

If you have never done a brake job on your 2008, it's wise to go ahead and do the whole thing - pads, rotors, and fluid (the car is 6 years old now). What you're feeling is very likely a warped rotor, which means you probably should just go ahead and replace the pads along with the rotors (instead of having your rotors turned if in fact you know that the rotors on the car are OEM).

In my personal experience, I ordered hawk brake pads and brembo rotors for my coupe and did the work myself. Those brakes stayed on the car until I traded it. It was more expensive than you'd pay for other brands, but it was well worth it.

Good luck!
