ok last winter i went ahead and did the s13 blacktop sr20det swap into my 96 240sx and this winter i'm gonna put it back up and go for more power ... plans are FMIC i already have intake/ downpipe / full 3'' exhaust and boost controller... besides the front mount i'm have the intake manifold ported and polished i would like to do a turbo upgrade but i have no clue which way to look for that.... can anyone help me out on that... as far as whats good how much and what all is needed..... another thing i want to keep reliability decently high for example if i want to take off and go on a trip somewhere i won't have to worry about sitting on the side of the road... so if someone could help me pick out a setup i would greatly appreciate itthanks,Chris

First what you need to think about is how much power are you aiming for. For a bigger turbo you would more than likely need to upgrade your fuel system and some sort of tuning, JWT ecu,SAFC, ect. Rocker arm stoppers are something I would definetly look into too if you dont already have them.Depending on your power range theres alot more things you would need.

If you have money:Get a new manifold and a GT30R (Will support 500- 550 whp and spool decently)

If you want to save a bit:Get a new manifold and a smaller t3/t4 like a T04E 46-Trim or T04E 50-Trim in a .48 A/R T3 Exhuast housing. (Will support up to about 400whp for the 50trim and about 350 whp for the 46-trim, and will spool pretty damn well with the .48 A/R exhuast... probably full boost around 3500 for the 50-Trim, and even a bit less for the 46-Trim)

Personally I would get the standard t3/t4, ball bearing just isn't worth the extra money. For example... Price on a standard t3/t4:http://www.turbocalculator.com...0Trim

You will need at LEAST 550cc injectors. The easiest route would be 550's and a SAFC for your fuel correction. If you go above 550's you will need some other sort of fuel management, either a standalone or a rom tune.

heavythrottle.com i think has a good stock position tubular manifold for the SR...and i would suggest a GT28R or RS (featured in scc for their project car) cuz its' just a good turbo...costly but good

[sarcasm] Injectors? Who needs them. I'm running GT2540R .86 a/r on stock injectors. I just run 4-7psi and it's slow as hell. That's all you need [/sarcasm]

I got the turbo then ran out of money, now it's only running on stock injectors. It's actually decently fast at 7psi. Probably 220whp or so. These turbos aren't made to run such low boost though.

I have a gt3071r turbo and i couldnt be happier with it, on 1 bar of boost the car made 304rwhp. THe car is ruuning on 580cc injector and an apexi SAFC2.

It depends on your goals. I want to get into the 11s so the best bottom mount turbo seem to be the .86 a/r GT2540r
