So I have a 2006 350z Manual, supercharged and built by Stillen. About 3 weeks ago, I was driving down the highway and the car just shuts off. I pull off onto the side of the road and pop the hood to take a look. Checked the oil and levels were just fine. Tried to crank her over and nothing. Lights turn on but as soon as I turn the key everything electrical turns off and it will just make a single click and a high pitched whining sound. The serpentine and supercharger belt will move about an inch or so.

So far I've changed the battery and taken a look at the fuses and relays. I found a cracked throttle control relay and switched it with the headlamp high relay (nothing). Switch around the Starter relay and still nothing. Pulled the ECM relay and the fans start up but once I put a relay back into the ECM slot the fans shut off.

Can anyone help me with this situation or have seen anything similar?

Welcome to NICO!
That's pretty rough that the car just died on you. Were you in gear and in motion? Or were you stopped at a light?
I would think you can probably stop looking into the starter for issues at the moment if it stopped while driving.
You have a manual trans, so you could always try to push-start it.

Being that you just hear a simple click when you try to start it, I'd start by trying to turn the engine over by hand (via the crank pulley bolt). Pulling the spark plugs will help it to turn easier, so will keeping it in neutral. Hopefully you didn't break a valve timing component.

Was doing 65mph and just switched from 4th to 5th (at the moment I switched to 5th) when it shut off. As for the push start, have tried in every gear so I'm not sure if its the compression of the engine with the supercharger or just not enough speed but it wont push start.

Pull codes, check for spark.

Yup, I'd stop looking at the starter. You might have some kind of blown fuse or something... but definitely see if there's any codes.

Pretty sure its just the starter not connecting with the flywheel. Going to buy a new one this weekend and put it on. I'll keep you all updated on the repairs.

A bad starter won't cause your car to shut down.

This. Your issue is elsewhere. I guarantee it.

Plus, you'd be able to pop start it.

The starter issue was resolved. Starter was bad and replaced. Now since the car is still not turning and the brand new battery is being drained from 12.5v to 0 in a matter of seconds im sure there is a short somewhere. The problem is now to find the short. The car still wont crank

If it's discharging in seconds, there's gonna be a hot wire somewhere. And I mean really hot. Like, probably smoking.

Yup. Start pulling fuses. Put the meter on the battery and the terminal to monitor amperage (note -these max out at 10 A... be prepared to replace a fuse in the meter if you are drawing more than 10). Pull fuses til you see it drop to like 60 mA or so.
