cam timing or ignition timing?

ignition timing is easy. you just turn the distributor from side to side. of course you need a timing light and you have to disconnect the tps to put her in timing mode.

cam timing is a little funny. you have to pull the valve cover and the little front upper cover. they you have to hope that the bottom end is all good. then you line up the dots(i will go into more detail if you want). it would be a good idea if you are unsure to pull the crank pulley and crank seal and see if the dots line up on the bottom.

crank pulley(belts) only goes on one way. you cant get it out of time unless your crankshaft is broke. the dots are on the sprocket for the timing chain. that is deeper into the motor. now we are talking valve timing.
