Other day I changed oil, and without test light I advanced the timing very tiny bit, and since than car is been running very poor and has noticable power loss at top end, I mean it barely pulls, and sometimes it cuts off in 2nd/3rd/4th around 4/5.5rpms+.

Before advancing and playing with timing, and even now, everytime I hit throttle, it puffs black smoke, and eats alot of fuel, very poor economy. Checked plugs, and they look alright.

I already ordered new o2 sensor, rotor, cap, and fuel filter.

What should I look for? I know I have to set timing at 15TCD but can I turn 1/2+ degrees more? Right now I don't have timing light but is there any certain way of adjusting timing? Maybe somebody can help me with picture or something as where is exactly distrb. set, I marked the distrb. before I adjusted but it was so dirty, when I put marks, it came right off when I moved the distrb.

I appreciate any help, I searched but didn't helped much.

Thanks again,Amirani

I just say try and find a timing light (or buy one they're not terribly expensive). Simply by looking at a picture of a set distributor you won't be able to get it back to exactly 15TDC. A timing light is just the easiest way to go. An autoparts stor with a loan a tool service might even have one you could borrow. Its just the easiest way.

Thanks, I'll look into it, and also my idle is bad, I mean everytime I drive it little hard, in neutral, RPMs keep going down and up from 850-1900.

Also, I checked throttle body sensor, and everytime I hit throttle off motor of course, I don't hear wot or idle click, is it normal on this KA24E motors? Even when I unplug it at idle, nothing changes, it feels same, weird.

I assume when you say throttle body sensor you are refering to the TPS(throttle position sensor). If you have a multimeter it is really easy to check, however I don't remember what it is supposed to read. You also might check vacuum lines for leaks and IAC valves. These things are pretty common causes of idle problems.

I don't know much about this cars so I'm kind of stuck.

I checked all the vacuum lines and they are good, I cleaned my throttle body, all the plugs, and set crankshaft at 15 TDC moved distr. as it should be, pointing on first cylinder but car still pings, and runs like s**t.

BTW, can I make one of those cheap piping they sell on ebay for intake fit my ka24e, from T/B all the way to AFM from ka24de motors? My current stock pipping is all dirty, and instead of paying more to get original stuff, I'll get nice chrome pipe, but I want to make sure they'll fit, so if anybody has answer for this, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks again,Amirani

Found the problem, it was cat clogged, and it got so worse after that, I mean car had no power, and I couldn't go over 2500rpms, gutted the cat, took rear muffler and holy sh** car runs like new, and hell of a much faster.
