are both windows not working? what is the situation? the first thing to do is check for power at the window motors when they are turned on. If there is 12v at the motor, the motor is gone. you'd then test the switch. wiring diagrams are in the fsm in signature.

i am not getting any power at the motor. i tfied to ohm it out to see if there was a short. it showed a short. but the i unplugged the amp and the short went away. does that mean i need a new amp?

push the button on the main switch(driver's door) to lower the driver side window.

read on power window amp:

terminal 21-blue-black-groundterminal 22-blue-white-groundterminal 23-white-black-12v+terminal 24-white-black-12v+terminal 25 - outputterminal 26-outputterminal 27- constant groundterminal 28-white-red-ground

If all the inputs to the amp are right, then it likely the amp.

if the problem is the passenger window, it could be that you have it on lock. also, if both the driver and passenger switch won't operate the passenger window, that would point to amp.

sorry, not sure about the short test. both wires to motor have continuity with switch off?
