Help with tdc P1138

Hello there, first time here I need help with the description of code P1138 in a 2004 sentra vin number is 3N1CB51D84 every thing looks good in it except for an erratic tach, but no driveabilty problems at all, any help will be greatly appreciated. CJ

Hello: someone just told me this code is related to the swirl control valve, can someone tell how this valve works? Thanks a lot

Are you sure it's 1138? I don't see that listed as a possible code.

Yes it is P1138 and someone from http://www.iatn.net told me is for swirl valve control circuit, my question is how do i go about checking this valve?

Thanks again, well the fsm did not have procedures to test swirl valve, but is a very simple system,and by doing some visual inspection I found a bad actuator motor, this motor actuates the valve and is commanded by ECU, on oppsite side of motor is a valve angle sensor that tells ECU the amount of valve opening, this valve creates wind turbulence for a more complete air/fuel ignition, for power gain and emissions control. Thanks again
