Help with Speedometer (RB20 into S13) please

Hey everybody...

I had my RB20 installed for me... So I am a bit uneducated. I am wondering if someone can give me some ideas.

They used the stock skyline cluster and swapped in the speedo from the 240sx. They used a 89 transmission speed sensor to get it to work.. It does work... but the readout is not very accurate.

I get readings that are 12 - 15% high. For example.. I followed my buddy and told him to put his cruise at 70.. my speedo doing the same speed was a bit over 80.

It's not that big a deal... I mean, I can keep it in my head that 80 means 70. But if it's not too hard to fix, i would like to make it work better.

Is there any way I can make an adjustment to the speedo or speed sensor? Can I get a new speedometer gauge that has the 70mph where mine shows 80mph? Are their aftermarket gauges (reverse glow or whatever) that I can swap over the top?

Any ideas?

It is easy to adjust. There is an adjustment screw on the top of the sensor in the cluster. The easy way to do it is to drill a hole through the cluster so you can put a screwdriver in there without taking it out each time. Turn it, follow someone, stop adjust, follow, stop adjust follow. Takes a while but should do the the trick.

you seemed to know more about speedo problems..Could you help me..I have a 1990 240SX with rb25det.. R33..

My speedo reads Zero.. nothing.. Mckinney(they did the wiring for me) said that I need a 91-94 Tach.. I have the skyline tach..Is there an other way.. how i going about dod this.. please give details..
