HELP with short shifter!!

I just installed the OBX short shifter as the instructions said.It keeps popping out of reverse and 5th gear-the right side is hard to shihft into-otherwise it works beautifully 1st-4th gears.I am missing the wave washer-this couldnt be it could it?PS I have tried adjusting the looseness-it even pops out whenit is loose or tight.

If u are talking about the big wave washer (btw u have to reuse the original Nissan one), thats inserted beneath the spacer under the whole shifter then this could be the cause.I also use the OBX(for a year now) and had no problems with it at all(easy insstallation, precise shifting and still in one piece)
