I need to know what sensor this is in the picture, and how to stop it from leaking boost on my car.

Thanks again

cold start air regulator thingy.

not a sensor.

basically, 12V heats up a wax element that expands and closes a valve. when cold the valve is open and it gives it more air = higher idle, and when warmed up it closes to not give more air.

I've never heard of one leaking, but you can replace it with one from a variety of sources... I think mine is from a FWD SR20DE of some kind. You could probably go to nissan and point it out and they'd find it. They're used on a ton of vehicles, several different models that are physically interchangeable but not part # interchangeable, probably have different amounts of air let through...

Ok Thanks i will see how much they are at nissan. If its rediculous i might just grab one from a junk yard.

What year of SR20DE did you use because there is a huge price difference between some models?

Not sure off hand which I got but I am thinking it is this one... it's the same as automatic CA18DET in Japan as for SR20DE automatics here:

22660-93L00

It's from the B13, B14U, B14X with automatic SR20DE. Presumably the automatic will idle a tad higher than a manual one, but who cares. I certainly don't have any problem with it...

You could rule the regulator out as the problem if you plugged both ends of the hoses that go into it. All it's used for is your high cold-start idle.
