I want to replace my stock head unit but i dont know if i should keep the stock front and rear amps or just run new speaker wire from head unit to speakers. One person said

"I recommend connecting the new unit’s speaker outputs into the existingamplifier inputs, instead of direct to the speakers. The existing amplifiers have electronic equalization that enhances bass andtreble response, and sounds better than running the speakers directly from the new unit."

Is this true?

And question 2 how do i bypass stock amps with out runing new speaker wire. If someone could post pictures that would be great?

THANKS

I'll tell you what i always tell customers at work. Try out the head unit with what's there first and then if you are not happy with it then go upgrade speakers bypass amps etc.

This comes with 4x6 speakers in the doors which are horrible in my opinion and they make adapters to go to 6 1/2s But with the active speaker systems when i do this i always just run new wire from the amplifier being installed or in your case the head unit.

All the signal wires on the Active System are run from the headunit to the 3 amps (1 for the rears, 1 on each door for the fronts)..

If you want to bypass them I believe the easiest way is to cut the wires as they enter the amps and connect them to the new speakers..

These are the colors on the headunit connector, knowing them you can test the wires from the connector at the amps with a continuity tester to match them..

Left Front (+) Blue/White Left Front (-) Blue/Yellow Right Front (+) Brown Right Front (-) Brown/White Left Rear (+) Red Left Rear (-) Green Right Rear (+) Blue Right Rear (-) Pink

Good Hunting..
