Guys. I'm stuck. Finally found a complete dash console on eBay and decieded to put it in. But I can't seem to get the upper console (surrounds the instrument panel with the airvents, clock, hazards etc) out of the car. It's hung up on the left side and catching on the ignition switch.

Do I need to drop the steering wheel just to pull out this part?If so, how the heck do you get the lower console kick plate off to drop the column? I've pulled all the screws I can find, but I can't get the )(*@*#)( plate off.

Help appreciated!jayson

5 screws on bottom, 2 screws in area upper gauges, 1 clip top left , 2 top right.

You have to remove the 2 piece surround of the steering column.Screws snaps apart.

Center surround 6 screws after the ashtray removed, Left lower snaps in.

My my you're getting brave...what about 10 bulbs in instrument cluster [and 3 vent on/off switch lights] since you will be close.
